Whinnie Events

• Mobile Whinnies travels to many sites for events (ex. libraries, senior centers, schools, and various public community events such as Touch-a-Truck, Trunk or Treat, and seasonal events).

• We need help out our check-in st ations. For example, people coming to libraries to read to a pony must first check in at the front table. Please help us check in those who have registered and assist them with completing an online consent form. We use technology such as tablets to check people in. Additional help organizing lines and handing out freebies (ex. bookmarks, pencils, stickers, etc).

• Helpful skills: friendly demeanor, great at using technology such as tablets, and a person who enjoys working with kids and ponies.

Horseshoe Artist

• A farrier is a person whose job is to keep horses’ hooves healthy, trimmed, and apply appropriate seasonal horseshoes if needed. Our friendly stable farrier has agreed to donate several horseshoes to our nonprofit on a rolling basis. We need volunteers who like art to turn them into beautiful, painted horseshoe decorative keepsakes.

• We will drop them off to you, show you how to apply the paint, and return to collect them when ready.

• Each decorative horseshoe and a card with a fun horse fact will be packaged into a cute box to be sold at fundraisers to empower Mobile Whinnies to care for our horses and complete more free visits to schools, libraries, senior centers, etc.

• Anyone can be an artist! Let your inner creativity shine!

Social Media and YouTube

• Do you have experience using Facebook, Instagram, ads, and/or YouTube? We are looking for those people adept at social media to help us with this new era of technology. Content creation and interacting through these channels.

• If you are a minor, we would need parental permission. We care deeply about balancing outdoor time and screen time.

• Have fun at the stable helping us make super short videos or photos to post on our platforms.

AI Integration Specialist

• Are you an adult with a career that already uses AI? We are a volunteer organization, so let us know how we can use AI to help staff roles such as searching for grants.

MW Grant Writer

• Do you prefer to help more behind the scenes instead of in the public eye? Are you scientifically minded and like to write? Reach out and let us know. We are constantly

1.) looking to create lists of grants that are available in our state and/or to

2.) write grant applications.

Sponsorship Marketing

• Are you an adult with a background in advertising? Perhaps you have a background in revenue generation at for-profits or nonprofits.

• We need help reaching out to potential sponsors in local towns. We serve Middlesex and Essex counties and get many requests from varying cities/towns within those regions. Help us match requests with local sponsors.

• We need creative thinkers to help us create posters and Facebook/Instagram ads for our fundraising events.

Horse Professional

• Are you an experienced horseback rider with at least 5 years of cumulative experience working with horses? Reach out as we are always looking for help from those in the horse world able to dedicate some time to lead line walk our ponies at events. We do only ground activities at all program site visits as our horses help with education as well as general wellness activities.

• Looking for those with friendly demeanor and love of working with children and/or seniors.

Reading Coaches

• Are you a retired teacher looking to share your expertise? We have some wonderful teachers on our Board of Directors that are early literacy specialists and have taught Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade, and 5th grade. We would welcome others to help read with children on the weekends with the ponies at the stable.

• Have fun working 1:1 with a student and pony. While the student reads in a relaxed, fun atmosphere to the pony, share reading tips that meet the individual student’s needs. Professional horse handler staff are always present. They oversee the horse while the reading coach helps the child learn.
